YSGPS Council

YSGPS Council is the governing body on matters pertaining to graduate education, including, but not restricted to, major graduate curriculum changes, new graduate program development, graduate certificates and/or diplomas, graduate program reviews and YSGPS policies with university-wide effect. Reese Wunsche (she/her), Biomedical Engineering MASc student

Reese Wunsche (she/her), Biomedical Engineering MASc student

Reese Wunsche is a second-year student in the Biomedical Engineering Master’s of Applied Science program. She earned a BASc in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering, and a BSc in Computing Technology from the University of Ottawa. During her undergraduate studies, Reese acted as the President of the University of Ottawa’s Engineering Students’ Society (ESS), as well as the Vice President of Social Affairs, and a voting member of the society’s Board of Directors. She also participated in the ESS’s Constitution Review Committee, Charity Committee and Engineering Endowment Fund Selection Committee. As a current member of the Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Science and Technology (iBEST) and Laboratory of Fields, Flows, and Interfaces (LoFFI) at TMU, Reese is passionate about her research, which concentrates on hydrogel delivery systems for extracellular vesicles based therapeutics. She is excited to participate in the meaningful discussion about the standard of graduate education here at TMU in the upcoming academic year.

Behrad Ghazinouri, Mechanical Engineering PhD student

Behrad Ghazinouri, Mechanical Engineering PhD student                  

Behrad Ghazinouri is a third-year Mechanical Engineering PhD candidate. He earned his master’s degree in applied design-manufacturing processes at K. N. Toosi University of Technology in Iran. As a member of the Microelectromechanical Systems and Mechatronics Laboratory at TMU, Behrad is passionate about contributing to his field and research, which mainly focuses on LiDAR scanning mirrors. As a graduate research and teaching assistant at TMU and invigilator at the Accommodation Test Centre, Behrad knows first-hand that external elements can impact graduate students’ productivity and performance. He is passionate about providing students with a unified voice at the university.

Victoria Sullivan, Scriptwriting and Story Design MFA student

Victoria Sullivan is a second-year student in the Scriptwriting and Story Design MFA program. She earned a BAH in theatre studies from the University of Guelph, where she studied performance and playwriting. Victoria is passionate about storytelling – as both a scriptwriter and actor – and ensuring graduate students are represented at YSGPS. To help students network and get to know each other after spending the past year learning remotely, Victoria created and ran a Graduate Course Union as her program's 2021-22 class representative. She also acted as the Graduate Students' Union director for The Creative School and CUPE 3904 unit steward. Victoria currently serves as the 2022-23 vice-president of research and education on the TMU Graduate Students' Union.
