"I recently graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies (ISS). Throughout my academic career at TMU, I had variety of opportunities to grow as a student and as a professional in the immigration and settlement field. The ISS program is a truly multidisciplinary program and one-of-a-kind in North America. As a result of multidisciplinary classes, students learn not only the fundamental concepts of migration theory and immigration policies, but they also gain tremendous leadership, teamwork and evidence-based research skills in various fields. Toronto Metropolitan University's ISS program opened my eyes to the various opportunities in the settlement field: those in direct service delivery, policy, research and administration. Instructors in this program are collaborative and help students in every aspect of their academic career. I especially benefited from my close relationships with my professors. This program is full of the most amazing and caring people you will ever meet: peers, faculty, and administrators. This program provides a range of opportunities for students in terms of extracurricular activities, professional development, and unique field placements. In choosing the MA Program in Immigration and Settlement Studies and Toronto Metropolitan University, you enter an exceptional graduate program that will help you along the way with your professional career!"

"My academic journey with ISS was amazing and I am grateful that I selected this program to pursue my interest in Immigration Studies. I entered this program with very little knowledge of Immigration and Settlement policies but left with a clearer, deeper understanding and appreciation for the topic. This program covers many topics, from critical theories to settlement patterns, to policies, bills and humanitarian issues. I was impressed with the faculty's strong commitment to students' success and the professors' immediate desires to assist in any way that they could. They provided a comfortable atmosphere which encouraged students to ask questions and review course topics for further understanding. I definitely recommend this program to anyone who has a career interest in Immigration and related fields. Currently, I work for the federal government, and I am proud to say that through the ISS program, I became equipped with the knowledge necessary to pursue a successful career."
