Campuses

A unique feature of the Collaborative Nursing Degree Program is the link between three campus located across Toronto. Years one and two of the program can be undertaken at any of the three campuses, and years three and four take place at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). In their final years, students maintain a strong link to their original campus through work with their faculty supervisors.

Each of the three schools is a vibrant learning community supported by diverse and engaging cultural, athletics and recreation programs as well as social activities.

TMU is located in the heart of downtown, right on the Yonge subway line, and is surrounded by world famous shopping, cultural, entertainment and athletics complexes. It is also within walking distance of some of Canada’s top healthcare institutions.

Centennial College’s nursing program takes place at the Centennial HP Science and Technology Centre in Scarborough. This $69 million Centre opened in early 2004 and is a progressive facility for studies in the health sciences.

George Brown College’s nursing classes are hosted at the new Waterfront Campus, one of the city’s most architecturally striking learning environments, equipped with several informal learning spaces and a stunning rooftop terrace.

Diversity 

The diverse mix of cultures and ethnicities in the learning community allows students to study and grow in an environment that promotes inclusiveness, understanding and cross-cultural collaboration.

Our student population is drawn from all across the GTA, one of the most multicultural cities in the world, creating an energetic group of diverse individuals who enrich each other’s experience. Students also come from a variety of age groups (ranging from recent high school graduates to mature students), economic backgrounds and levels of education.

Outside the learning environment, each partner institution, and the city itself, supports a range of multidisciplinary social and cultural clubs.

The GTA Advantage

A major benefit of the Collaborative Nursing Program is its location in the GTA. This setting gives students access to more than 150 clinical agencies, community services and world-renowned hospitals and provides an immense range of placement and employment opportunities. It also makes the program a desired location for expert faculty in the field.

Students take advantage of the cultural, social, entertainment, shopping and athletic activities offered across the city. Becoming immersed in the cultural and ethnic diversity of Toronto broadens awareness and understanding and enriches learning experiences through cultural networks and support systems that are far more extensive than in smaller urban centres.

"My practicum experience provided invaluable insight into the many different streams of nursing that I could pursue. It included placements in acute care, community health, long-term care, and hospice care. In my fourth year of the program I presented an academic poster at two conferences with the guidance and mentorship of one of my professors and I am now working full-time at the University Health Network."

BScN Alumna 2017

"I really like how they put everything together. Like the professors, the students, clinical. All of their people here are supportive, and if you have any problems, you can go to them and talk with them. They are so helpful and supportive to you."
