Jiu Jitsu
Develop new skills in these instructor-led, small group classes over a 10-week period. Pre-registration is required and each class builds on the last.
We offer a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for participants to gain valuable self-defence skills while achieving higher fitness levels. Shorinji KanJjiu Jitsu encompasses locking, throwing and striking techniques, allowing for a controlled response to a violent confrontation by using the attacker's movement and momentum against him/herself. This martial art can be used by anyone, irrespective of strength, weight, or gender. New students are encouraged to try two free trial sessions and do not need a high standard of physical fitness or flexibility to begin. Initially students who would like to participate can simply wear comfortable gym clothing such as track pants and a t-shirt.
