Enterprise Blockchain Awards 2020

July 08, 2020

The Enterprise Blockchain Awards (external link, opens in new window)  (EBAs) are an annual awards ceremony recognizing innovation and excellence in enterprise. The event focusses on blockchain applications and solutions for business, and how industries are being transformed by distributed ledger technologies. After the success of the inaugural Blockchain Revolution Global (BRG) in 2019, the second edition in 2020 brought together executives from the world’s leading enterprises alongside foremost leaders, thinkers, and practitioners in blockchain.

The second annual EBAs were held on July 7th to celebrate the amazing leadership, research, and innovation in the enterprise blockchain ecosystem over the previous year. The virtual event was produced by MCI Canada (external link)  and co-hosted by the Blockchain Research Institute (external link)  (BRI) and the City of Toronto (external link)

The EBAs covered four broad categories: Enterprise Blockchain Transformation, Innovative Entrepreneurship in Blockchain, Blockchain Leadership, and New Frontier in Blockchain Research, and recognized the work of 36 finalists for their work and leadership in the blockchain ecosystem, and across their various industries.

Our very own Director and Founder of the Cybersecurity Research Lab (CRL) (opens in new window) , Dr. Atefeh (Atty) Mashatan (opens in new window)  won the New Frontiers in Blockchain Research for Academic Research award, recognizing CRL's work on Mosaïque - a purpose-built digital wallet.

Dr. Mashatan, "We see the future of blockchain applications being interoperable as opposed to the current ecosystem of siloed solutions. To interact with blockchain applications, users need a digital wallet to enable secure transaction workflows as well as identity management services. And hence, we have developed (the) Mosaïque digital wallet: a fully decentralized and data-driven identity and credential management system for business environments."

Dr. Mashatan accepted the award and thanked the Ted Rogers School of Management (opens in new window) , her team at CRL as well as BRI for this great recognition.
