Family Presentations

In keeping with the university's tradition, any faculty or staff member who has a family member graduating is welcome to congratulate them on stage. This has created very special memories for many families throughout the years.

If you register for a family presentation, you will be asked to join the Academic Procession and to sit on stage for the duration of the ceremony. Please see below regarding Marshalling and Regalia.

Participants of family presentations join the Academic Procession on the third floor (MAC 3319) of the Mattamy Athletic Centre  (opens in new window) . Please arrive 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony. View the current convocation schedule to check your availability

Academic regalia is required for all family presentation participants.

If you do not have your own regalia, black academic gowns will be supplied by the university. On the day of your ceremony, these gowns will be available on the third floor (MAC 3319) of the Mattamy Athletic Centre  (opens in new window) .  Give yourself enough time to sign-out your gown and be in the marshalling area in time.

There will be coatracks provided, however, this is in an area that cannot be secured, so please leave all valuables in your office.

Academic hoods are the responsibility of the individual faculty and staff members. If you would like to wear a hood you can purchase one at harcourts.com (external link) . Wearing a hood is not required but does add to the “splendour” of the family presentation.
