Campus Facilities and Safety
In keeping with current public health recommendations and in support of the City of Toronto’s mask bylaw, Ryerson University has implemented a Face Mask Policy. We encourage all members of the community to review this policy should they have to return to campus. More details on the procedures of how this particular policy will be implemented will be communicated soon.
In addition, we have developed personal protective equipment guidelines to support those who have to return to campus.
Safety protocols developed by Facilities Management and Development (FMD) include the necessary sanitation, physical distancing supports and personal protective equipment guidelines. Ongoing discussions with Deans and planning groups such as the Scenarios Planning Working Group on these issues continue and as new information emerges, and new strategies for health-related safety education for community members are developed, it will be shared with faculties.
Faculties are encouraged to have continuing internal discussions on best practices for classroom management for situations where on campus delivery is necessary for the fall.
We are working to develop a framework for such specific activity, noting that the primary principle in our planning approach is the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. While working, teaching and learning that can be undertaken remotely should be conducted remotely, we understand that some faculty may request that select activity (such as essential research) be done on campus, in an office environment. In the meantime, remote work will continue until at least September.
More information on who returns to campus is on the COVID info section of our website.
