Creative Technology Lab SAFETY POLICY
No unauthorized person may use the CreatuveTechnology Lab. Visitors or guests are strictly prohibited from using any of the equipment or machinery in the lab.
The Creative Technology Lab and Ryerson University are committed to upholding the highest standards of maintaining a safe and healthy learning/work environment for all of its community members, including students, faculty, and staff.
The Creative Technology Lab is an advanced fabrication lab and safety is the utmost priority. Any individual who works in the lab will require the following:
- An accepted project application form and risk assessment
- WHMIS training
- EHS training
- FMD machine safety awareness
- Creative Technology Lab Orientation training
There are many pieces of equipment and machinery in the Creative Technology Lab that can cause serious injury without proper training. No users can operate this machinery without first participating in a training session. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is available for all equipment.
In the event of a serious injury, inform the technician on duty and have Ryerson security notified immediately.
Onsite safety equipment and applications:
- EPO (Emergency Power Off) button in each work area.
- Eye Protection/Ear Protection
- Eyewash stations
- Fire Extinguishers
- Fire Plan
