What type of applicants do we look for?

The Accelerated Cybersecurity Training Program values diversity and seeks applicants with a broad variety of personal and professional experiences.

Successful candidates will have a high aptitude and demonstrated interest in cybersecurity.

We seek candidates who are curious about technology; able to absorb and analyze complex information; work well in fast-paced environments; work effectively in team-based settings; and show attention to detail. 

Eligibility Requirements

RBC Women in Cyber Stream

RBC New Careers in Cyber Stream

  • Identifies as female
  • Convention refugee, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, residing in Canada
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Completed a high school diploma
  • Speak and write effectively in English
  • Has lost full-time employment in Canada within the last 36 months and has been unable to secure employment again
  • Convention refugee, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, residing in Canada
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Completed a high school diploma
  • Speak and write effectively in English

Rogers New Canadians in Cyber Stream

Peel Region Young Workers
in Cyber Stream

  • Has lived in Canada for at least three (3) years but no more than ten (10) years and has been unable to secure full-time employment in Canada that aligns with their skills and education
  • Convention refugee, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, residing in Canada
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Completed a high school diploma
  • Speak and write effectively in English
  • Residents of Peel region (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon), between the ages of 18-30 (inclusive), who are unemployed/ working part-time (less than 35 hours a week) or underemployed (not doing work that aligns with their skills and education).
  • Convention refugee, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, residing in Canada
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Completed a high school diploma
  • Speak and write effectively in English

PLEASE NOTE

You may not be eligible for this Program if (case by case basis):

  • You have completed post-secondary education or postgraduate education in the Information Security/Cybersecurity field.
  • You are currently working in or have prior work experience in the Information Security/Cybersecurity field.
  • You are currently in school.
