Adam is the university's IT Accessibility Specialist. He supports the whole university in ensuring that Ryerson's online environment is accessible to all. He collaborates with various people across the university, including web developers, content authors, marketing and communication specialists, procurement specialists, and more.
Adam led the development of Sa11y, an open source accessibility checker, external link designed for content authors. Sa11y is available in Ryerson's content management system (Adobe AEM) for anyone editing a website at Ryerson. Adam is available as a consultant to your Ryerson department, and can help identify and remediate potential accessibility barriers. Adam is responsible for:
- Training, auditing, remediation and development of accessible websites based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Training, auditing, remediation and development of accessible documents in Office and G Suite.
- Developing accessibility requirements when procuring IT systems and RFPs (request for proposal).
- Developing accessibility guides and resources.
