SCI888: Evidence-Based Innovation

In order to provide more time to ensure the remote experience is as academically rewarding as possible, SCI888 will not be offered in the Fall 2020 semester. Anyone who may be interested in enrolling for the Winter 2021 semester should submit their interest form early.


This open-credit course is open to undergraduate students from any program at Ryerson University, because multidisciplinary collaborations can lead to the extraordinary.

SCI888 is an open-elective course, although in most cases, students may convert the credit into professionally-related (PR), with approval from their program director. 
[This course cannot be credited as a liberal elective.]

There are no prerequisites however SCI888 is open only to students in their second academic year or higher.
Traditionally, the class is structured to be two blocks of two hours (totaling four hours of class per week), which are primarily used for hands-on teamwork, guest speakers, professional development workshops, and class discussion. While Ryerson University continues to operate in a remote environment, students will be able to access most of the set content on their own time, and we will organize flexible times for teamwork and discussion with the instructor and classmates.
