Biography:

Karyn Positano is a sessional lecturer at Ryerson University‚Äôs School of Early Childhood Studies and a certified child life specialist currently working at the Hospital for Sick Children. Positano has been passionate about providing play opportunities and enhancing coping strategies for all children who are receiving treatment in a hospital clinic setting. Positano has presented both locally and internationally on different aspects of the child life profession, the most recent being on the use of technology and other methods of distraction to enhance coping among children undergoing medical procedures. Positano graduated from Ryerson University with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and received her master's of science at the University of Guelph in Family Relations and Human Development.
