Nov 1 | 12 to 1:00 p.m. | SLC Amphitheatre

Oct 30 | 12 to 2:00 p.m. | POD 372
Join Ryerson’s Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching for this workshop to learn what you can do in your day-to-day practice to make your classroom more inclusive for trans and gender non-conforming students. Watch for a workshop for instructors next semester.
Nov 5 | 12 to 2:00 p.m. | TRS 1-148
Join us for a workshop and discussion about how to create space for children to explore gender expression and identity while feeling safe and supported. Participants can join for the first hour only if time is a constraint. No registration required. Please feel free to bring your lunch.
Nov 12 | 12 to 1:30 p.m. | TRS 1-148
Learn about three Ryerson departments that made changes to their curriculum, programs and offerings to be more trans-inclusive, including Disability Studies, Student Housing and Athletics and Recreation. Nov 14 | 12 - 1:30 p.m. | JOR 1410
Staff and faculty who self-identify as 2SLGBTQ+ are invited to join us for a lunch social to meet your community on campus! We ask that you register for this event so we know how much food to order, however you will not be asked to provide your name.
Nov 19 | 12 - 1 p.m. | SLC 508
All are welcome to view Cinema Politica's Transgender Parents, a Canadian documentary featuring trans men and women at various stages of parenting sharing their strengths, challenges, and experiences navigating family life. This film will be preceded by the short Wet by non-binary Ryerson University filmmaker Goldbloom. Wet celebrates femininity and challenges the sexualizing male gaze. Please feel free to bring your lunch.
Nov 20 | 6 - 10 p.m. | 519 Church St.
We encourage community members to attend the 20th anniversary vigil at the 519 Church Street Community centre. The 519 is still looking for performers so get in touch with them if you might like to participate. Contact the 519 for more information about this event. Please also consider supporting this important community resource: There are 93,062 reasons to donate to The 519.
All month | RAC & MAC
Recognizing that sport spaces have a long history of being unwelcoming to and unsafe for gender non-conforming and trans folks, Ryerson Athletics & Recreation has undertaken specific initiatives to make their space more welcoming. During the month of November, check out the designated Trans & Allies classes and Trans + Gender Diverse swim options. All gender changerooms are available. Don’t have a membership? All members of our community are invited for a free trial.
All month | Ryerson Image Centre
Pass by the Ryerson Image Centre from sundown to midnight and you’ll notice the building has been lit up purple, pink and blue in honour of Trans Awareness Month.
