The information provided on this website is intended to help you effectively plan around the various access restrictions and other construction impacts as we work towards creating an improved and revitalized campus core.
Construction fencing placement
The project zone will be fenced off for public safety. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of Gould Street in front of the School of Image Arts (IMA), Ryerson Image Centre (RIC) and Balzac’s, as well as around the south end of Lake Devo to access The Chang School (CED) and the Victoria Building (VIC).
Nelson Mandela Walk has re-opened from Gerrard Street East to the Library (LIB) main entrance. The accessible entrance to LIB remains available via Gould Street and will be maintained for the duration of construction.
Fencing currently restricts access to Gould Street between O'Keefe Lane and Bond Street, and Victoria Street from Gould Street to mid-block by the entrance to the Victoria Building (VIC). The intersection of Gould Street and Victoria Street has been partially opened to restore east-west travel on the south side of Gould Street. However in the future this may need to change due to utility repairs on Gould Street that are not related to any Ryerson project.
For detailed alternate route information, visit the Pedestrian Routes and Accessibility page.
Contribution from the City of Toronto
Ryerson would like to acknowledge the generous contribution of $7 million in funding towards the overall budget of this project from the City of Toronto and the tremendous support from Toronto City Councillor Wong-Tam.
