Ken Ozdemir, manager, maintenance and operations (M&O), coordinates the trade services that maintain and repair Toronto Metropolitan University’s buildings, equipment and infrastructure to ensure the safe and ongoing operation of our structural and mechanical systems and critical life-safety systems.

The M&O team collaborates with the Project Management Office, Computing and Communications Services (CCS), Environmental Health & Safety and Campus Safety and Security and external service providers (e.g. elevator and utilities) to develop short- and long-term preventative maintenance schedules, equipment/infrastructure renewal programs and safety-certification compliance plans.

What we do

Maintenance and operations staff keep our buildings, infrastructure and equipment in good repair, inspected and certified.

The M&O team also helps to make sure that specialized user-group equipment and safety systems are well maintained and properly integrated with existing building systems to support TMUs on-campus scholarly, research and creative activities.

The team also has staff ready 24/7 to perform emergency maintenance in response to unexpected equipment breakdowns, infrastructure/utility failures and damage related to vandalism or weather events.
