Interior Design Students Create 20th Anniversary Bata Shoe Museum Window

A group of students from the School of Interior Design and the Department of Architectural Science have teamed up through the Design Fabrication Zone to create Bata Shoe Museum’s latest window display.

Composed of rods of different length, the installation appears like an abstract composition close up. From a distance, the rods resolve into images of moving feet, wearing shoes of different heights.

Further transformation of the installation takes place in the evening when coloured lights are used to create an unexpected abstraction.

The installation was created in celebration of the museum’s 20th anniversary.  Lois Weinthal, Chair of the School of Interior Design, has been the project supervisor working with the students on the creation and installation of the display.
