The RTA School of Media is Canada’s pre-eminent school of content creation, innovation and broadcasting.  RTA offers three distinct areas of undergraduate studies – media production, sport media, and new media.

The School also offers a Master of Arts in Media Production in conjunction with the Yeates School of Graduate Studies.

The Media Production and Sport Media programs lead to Bachelor of Arts degrees. Through both formal studies and experience with industry partners, students explore the business of production and broadcasting, also delving into new frontiers of interactivity, social media, and digital technology.  The New Media program is a Bachelor of Fine Arts program that engages students at the crossroads of media, art and technology.   In all three programs, students experience an intense and rewarding education in all aspects of media production, art and scholarship. Graduates are recognized as the country’s leading media producers, artists, storytellers and thinkers.

The School is also home to a number of research centres and experiential learning opportunities including the Transmedia Zone, an incubator for new ideas and practical prototyping on the future of content.  The Zone encourages collaborative work from students and industry members as they take their projects from concept to prototype and beyond. You can also check out this short video on the Transmedia Zone.

Among some of the School’s illustrious graduates are Dwight Drummond (Co-Host, CBC Toronto), Jocelyn Hamilton (Vice President at Corus Entertainment), Marci Ien (Co-Host, Canada AM), Keith Pelley (President, Rogers Media), Valerie Pringle (former TV Host – CBC and CTV; philanthropist and volunteer), and Terry O’Reilly (Host, CBC Age of Persuasion).
