Faculty of Community Services COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund

Update, April 20, 2020: This fund is subject to availability and is currently unavailable as we have reached capacity. Additional funding opportunities will be announced at ryerson.ca/fcs if they become available.

The Faculty of Community Services (FCS) has set up an emergency fund to address the needs of FCS students who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the state of emergency. This fund is intended to provide immediate financial relief for the next month  to students who face a significant challenge affording basic needs such as groceries, rent, bills, medication, transportation, etc. due to COVID-19. Support is not intended as a source of long-term funding but to assist students as the Winter term ends.

Eligibility and Guidelines:

  • You must be an undergraduate, graduate or continuing education FCS student (domestic or international) enrolled in a part-time or full-time degree program or certificate and have taken courses in the Fall 2019 and/or Winter 2020 semester.
  • Students who have other sources of funding are asked to access those sources first before completing this form in order to ensure funds are available for those who most need support in our community.
  • Financial assistance will be granted based on need expressed and available funds.
  • Priority will be given to students who have not received other emergency funding from within Ryerson.

We will continue to review applications while funds remain available. We anticipate that we will receive a high number of requests and will provide responses as soon as we can. Also, please be aware it may take two to three weeks for funds to reach you by mail.

If you need assistance filling out this form, please contact us at fcsinaction@ryerson.ca or leave a message at  416-979-5000 ext. 5034. Phone messages will be returned twice a week.

All personal information submitted will be kept confidential and used only for the purposes of making decisions about the distribution of available funds.
