Faculty of Community Services COVID-19 Rapid Response Research Fund
The FCS COVID-19 Rapid Response Research Fund will seed small-scale research projects led by individual or teams of researchers to study important issues directly related to COVID-19 and its impacts. This can include the effects of the pandemic (including but not limited to unintended consequences of social distancing and other COVID-19 related policies at institutional, municipal, provincial, or federal levels) as well as responses to the pandemic (including but not limited to innovations in technology, methodologies, and practices/processes). The primary aim of this grant is to rapidly seed research that can lead to meaningful impact. As such this intake will have an expedited peer review process.
Wednesday, August 12 by 4pm
Notifications: Applicants will be notified of decisions via email by the end of August.
Projects must be led by an FCS faculty member. If you received funding in Round 1 you are not eligible to apply for Round 2. Projects funded through the FCS Rapid Response Fund are not eligible to receive funding through the FCS Seed Grant or Collaborative Grant.
Projects will be funded to a maximum of $5,000 for individual or $10,000 for team projects (projects requesting less than the maximum will not be disadvantaged). *Grants may not receive the full amount requested if requested amounts are not well justified.*
Projects must be completed within 9 months of receiving funding including demonstrated knowledge sharing with academic and/or non-academic stakeholders (i.e., report, policy or practice recommendation, draft article etc.). Extensions will not be granted.
Applicants may either use the online form provided on this page (“Apply Now”) or may download the MS Word document sent out via email and email it to email@example.com. Please take advantage of the word counts provided to offer sufficient details for reviewers to assess your proposed research and its potential impacts. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
