Chemical Engineering, 3rd year
During my first semester at Ryerson, I learned the importance of getting involved and being active as I had to manage my time to include commuting, school and a part-time job. I was always an independent student, but University challenged me beyond what I was used to. I put extra-curriculars aside, quit my part time job and focused on studying and managing my time. At first, I was disappointed that I couldn’t keep up with these things but it started to get easier as I took advantage of the resources that Ryerson offered, such as office hours with my professors, online study sessions, and study halls before my exams.
In my second semester, I found out about drop-in volleyball at the RAC. From there, I was able to make new friends and joined a Co-ed Intramural Volleyball team.
It is my goal is to reach out to new students and tell you about all of the things that I learned the hard way so you don’t have to. Please ask me any questions.
