Special Engineering Student status is normally granted for one of three reasons:

  1. To allow students who are currently enrolled in programs at other universities to take courses that they cannot access at their home institutions; or
  2. To allow international students in recognized joint programs with Ryerson with an opportunity to take courses while studying at Ryerson; or
  3. To allow university graduates in engineering to upgrade their skills or knowledge for employment or post graduate studies.

Special Engineering Student status is not an entry point into Ryerson programs.

Student with a “Required to Withdraw” standing (or equivalent) from any university do not qualify for Special Student status in the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Ryerson University.
