Dr. Heather Driscoll
Heather Driscoll is Director, Governance at Ryerson University. She oversees the university's access-to-information and privacy compliance program, its records management program, as well as compliance with other legislation including the Ombudsman's Act (Ontario), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, and is building a university administrative policy management program. From 2012 to May 2015, Heather was Director of the Office of the General Counsel and Board Secretariat and Information and Privacy Officer. In that role, she was responsible for university compliance with access and privacy legislation and advised on privacy-related risks to university systems and procedures.
Heather is a Professional Fellow of the Privacy and Cybercrime Institute at Ryerson. She holds the International Association of Privacy Professionals CIPP-C designation. She has a Ph.D in Canadian History from the University of Alberta, an M.A. in Canadian Heritage and Development Studies (specializing in Native Studies) at Trent University, and an Honors B.A. in History at Huron University College at Western University.
