Paula Bourne is the Compliance and Policy Advisor at Ryerson University. She is responsible for managing the university's access-to-information and privacy compliance program as well as ensuring the university is compliant with privacy legislation including FIPPA, PHIPA, and GDPR. She also provides advice on privacy-related matters to various stakeholders across the university.
Paula provided support in planning, building, and implementing the university's Administrative Policy Management Program.
Her responsibilities include implementing guidelines and best practices for policy writing and regular policy review in addition to analyzing and identifying gaps in existing university policies. She also manages administrative policy-related communication within the university, and maintains the University Administrative Policies website.
Paula has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Regina, a Professional Specialization Certificate in Public Policy and Governance from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from McMaster University.
