Message to alumni and friends from Ryerson president, Mohamed Lachemi

With our normal routines disrupted I wanted to check-in with you, and send my best wishes that you and your family are keeping well during this challenging time.

Our alumni and friends are top of mind. I hope you and your loved ones are safe, healthy and coping as best as can be expected.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the university has been focused first and foremost on the health and wellbeing of our students and community members. We worked hard to ensure that Ryerson students could successfully complete their academic term, and we are working just as hard as we move into the Fall 2020 term.

You may have heard that Ryerson has moved to an essential services model, reducing the number of people on our campus and doing our utmost to support the broader community.

We are fortunate to have a great team here, and as importantly, wonderful alumni and friends like you who support and encourage us. The Ryerson Advancement team is working remotely, and available by phone or email. Please feel welcome to get in touch with Alumni Relations and/or Development team members.

We have had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone all in-person events on-and off-campus until further notice. We have been hosting a wide variety of virtual events, including the Top Five webinar series. We look forward to getting together in person with our friends and alumni community once again when circumstances allow.

I am looking forward to better days ahead for us all, and seeing you again soon.

Sincerely,

Mohamed Lachemi
