The Wakarchuk lab for glycobiology is studying how glycosylation of various molecules plays a role in biology, or how to harness it for developing new therapeutics.  We have a toolbox for this research that includes: recombinant protein expression and purification; glycosyltransferase expertise for the in vitro synthesis of glycoconjugates; HPLC based N-glycan profiling of glycoproteins; basic carbohydrate chemistry to produce our own assay substrates for many different glycosyltransferases; experience with glycoside hydrolases for biomass degradation, or health related research.  The Wakarchuk lab is always looking for motivated students to develop our research areas.
