Melody investigates "political world-building" in the context of the contemporary right-wing, drawing on theories of performativity, relationality, and microfascism and from the disciplines of anthropology, sociology, media theory and religious studies. She has published with the Canadian Journal of Communication, acted as lead editor for a volume with Rowman & Littlefield, and is currently lead editor of an upcoming special issue with Big-Data and Society concerning the micro-politics of online subcultures.
