Dejan serves as Chair of Ryerson University's Department of Mathematics. He specializes in researching the Foundations of Mathematics and Computing, and has authored papers appearing in high quality journals, including Transactions of the American Mathematical Society, Journal of Algebra and Logical Methods in Computer Science.

Dejan is actively involved in professional activities, and is a reviewer for journals in algebra, discrete mathematics and computation. He has also previously served on the NSERC Scholarships and Fellowships Panel and as a reviewer for NSERC Canada Research Chair Tier II.
