Biography:

Dr. Katherine Zubovich is a historian of modern Russia who joined the Department of History in 2017. Prior to joining the faculty at Ryerson, she taught at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dr. Zubovich’s research currently focuses on urban life and city planning in the former Soviet Union. Her forthcoming book, titled Moscow Monumental (Princeton University Press, 2020)examines the history of a city-wide skyscraper construction project undertaken in Moscow during the Stalin era. Dr. Zubovich has taught courses on the Soviet Union, Imperial Russia, Stalinism, The City in History, and the Socialist City.
