Picture of Eggy

You are required to leave residence 24 hours after your last exam, or by 12 noon on April 25, 2020 whichever comes first.

You may want to consider moving the majority of your belongings out the weekend before your final exam and keeping only the essentials in residence that you'll need for studying. Using the weekend will allow you more time to move out the bulk of your belongings which means your final move-out during the week will be that much quicker and easier!

Extension Requests

Quiet Hours

Year long quiet hours:

Friday - Saturday 1am-10am
Sunday - Thursday 11pm-8am

Exam periods : 24 hours a day*

  • 1st Semester exam quiet hours start: 1:00am November 29, 2019
  • 2nd Semester exam quiet hours start:1:00pm April 10, 2020
  • 8pm - 9pm nightly there will be no quiet hours to relax and be able to make moderate noise.

During quiet hours, we ask that you respect your neighbours by ensuring that you aren’t disrupting their study time. Speakers, TV's, etc. should be kept at a low volume (or used with headphones) and room doors should be kept closed. Noise that can be heard outside of a room or lounge is not permitted. Treat others as you would like to be treated the night before a big exam!

*24 hour quiet hours are relaxed daily between 8 pm - 9 pm to allow for moderate levels of noise.

No Overnight Guests

Unfortunately, no overnight guests are permitted in residence during the exam period. This is to reduce the risk of noise and distractions.

Beginning Friday April 10 at 8:00 pm overnight guests cannot be signed into the residences.  Regular guest sign-ins will resume for summer residents on May 2, 2020 at 12 noon.

If you need to have an overnight guest during the exam period, please complete the guest exemption request form.  Requests are due by April 3 and will be reviewed by a Residence Life Facilitator; residents will receive an email to note it their request has been approved or declined.

Room Inspections

A thorough room inspection will be completed after you have moved out.  If you would like the room inspection to be completed while you are present you can make an appointment with Housing & Residence Life for the day of your move out.  Please book your appointment before April 3, 2020.

Lock Your Room

Please ensure that your door is closed and locked when you leave, as you are responsible for the room until we have completed your room inspection.  You are NOT permitted to allow anyone to stay in your room after you move-out.

Garbage Removal

Your room must be returned to the condition it was in when you arrived.  All belongings should be removed - garbage and recycling must be properly disposed of and must NOT be left in your room. If extra cleaning or garbage removal is required, you may be issued an extra fee - please refer to the Repair and Replacement Charges Guide for more information.

During the move-out period, there is increased demand on the garbage systems in all 3 buildings.  Your cooperation in ensuring the buildings remain clean throughout the exam and move-out period is appreciated.  All garbage and recycling must be bagged and disposed of in accordance with the directions posted.  Further information on garbage and recycling will be emailed and posted on your floor in the coming weeks.

If you rearranged your furniture please return all items to their proper position, and ensure there are no extra furniture items in your room or in the common areas of your suite.  There is a fine for each extra and/or missing piece of furniture in your room - please refer to the Repair and Replacement Charges Guide for more information.

Damage/Excess Cleaning

You are responsible for the condition of your room.  If your room is not left in a satisfactory condition you may be issued damage, cleaning or replacement charges - please see the Repair and Replacement Charges Guide for more information.  If charges are necessary, you will be informed by email in May, along with more details regarding the condition of your room.

ILLC Modems

The modem in your room will be used by a new student next year, so please leave it in the room along with the telephone cable and power adapter.  If any of these three pieces are missing during your room inspection you will be assessed a fee for replacement - please see the Repair and Replacement Charges Guide for more information.

Moving Carts

To ease your move, you will want to ask family and friends to bring carts and dollies with them if possible.  We have a very limited number of carts which will be in high demand.
