Co-op Housing Program - Application Info and Cost

Participating in a summer co-op/internship and looking for affordable housing in Toronto?

For $840/month (May to July) and $280/month (August), any students enrolled in a post-secondary institution and participating in a summer co-op/ internship can stay—this price includes internet, hydro, and all utilities!

Lease from May 2nd to August 17th, 2019. Monthly option available!

Pitman Hall is located in downtown Toronto at Dundas and Church. Close proximity to the Financial district and less than a ten minute walk to Dundas subway station, the Eaton Centre shopping mall and many major tourist attractions.

Where and How to Apply

1. Submit an application request.

2. Wait for email confirmation from Housing & Residence Life.
Co-op spaces are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Please allow 7 business days for processing. 

3. When your application is accepted, an acceptance letter with payment link and payment due date will be sent to you for rent deposit.

The application is consider complete only if the deposit is received before the due date.

4. Once rent deposit is received, student will receive an offer of accommodation.

Please note that all Co-op housing rooms are currently sold out for 2019. You could still submit an application to be on the waitlist. We will continue to offer spaces as they become available.

Rent Deposit

A $200 non-refundable rent deposit is required after the application in accepted. 

The deposit will be used towards the last month room rent.  

Cost

Room rent is $840 per month for May to July, and $280 for August. (Monthly Option Available!)

Rent period is from the first day to the last day of the month.
Resident is responsible in paying half month rent if arriving during the 3rd and 4th week (after the 14th day of the month). 

Rent deposit is $200 and is used towards the last month rent. 

 

  • The first month room rent is due on April 1,2019 online via the payment link. 
  • The subsequent rent will be due on the 1st day of every month in person at the Residence Service Desk. 
  • A $50 late fee applies if rent is overdue for 5 days. 
  • Apply the rent deposit towards the last month rent. 
  • If May/ June/ July is your last month, you will be paying $640 for the last month.
    If August is your last month, you will be paying $80 for the last month.

 

The desk accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Interac Debit and Canadian cash only. The cardholder must be under the resident’s name, otherwise the cardholder must be present onsite to make the payment.

Roommate Request

 

We accept roommate requests on the residence application form. It is your responsibility to ensure that all individuals indicate their wish to be roommates. This is only a request, however, and we do not guarantee that every request will be granted; we reserve the right to pair students outside of the roommate request into the same suite.

 

Cancellation Policy

Students who wish to cancel after May 2nd, 2019 or withdraw from their co-op residence room before the end of their contract will lose the $200 non-refundable rent deposit.
