Residence Guest Service Agents (GSA)

Residence Guest Service Agents are the first face you see when entering the residence communities. These student staff maintain access control for the residences as well as guest sign-ins and packaging tracking. They are also a great information source for resources in and around residence and across campus. The residence service desks are staffed by students 24/7 along with security officers overnight.



A laundry card is included in your move in package. Additional card can be purchased at the desk for $5.

No more laundry money?

No more laundry money? You can easily add more money to your laundry card with cash at the OneCard Machine located at Pitman Hall residence and International Living Learning Center lobby at anytime. The machine takes $5, $10 and $20 bills only and does not give changes. The laundry card is non-refundable at the residence service desk. You may visit the One Card Office in JOR-02 during business hours to process refund at the end of your stay. Card value of under $50 will be charged for $2.50 admin fee, card value of over $50 will be charged for 5% of its value for admin fee; the remaining value will be returned.



Mail/ Packages

The Residence Guest Service Agent will log your package and call you for pick up. Please note that C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) packages cannot be accepted at the desk unless you are there to pay for it yourself. If you are not available, the package will be returned to sender.


Sending Mail or Packages

There is a mail drop box located on campus at the corner of Church St. and Gould St. To send larger pieces of mail or packages, there is a post office located in the Atrium on Bay, located at the corner of Yonge St. and Dundas St.


Mail after Move-Out

Any mail that is received after you move out will be Returned To Sender. Please inform your friends, relatives, schools, bank, credit card companies, etc. of your new address as soon as possible.

Garbage & Recycling

Garbage and Recycling

It is your responsibility to empty the garbage container in your room. Bring all garbage and recycling to the community lounge of your floor.



We ask that you carry your bedroom key on your person at all times.

If you are locked out of your room, please come or call down to the residence services desk of your building

The Residence Guest Service Agent will either perform the lockout for you or find a Maintenance staff to do that.

Lockouts cost:

  • 1st Lockout - FREE
  • 2nd Lockout - $5
  • 3rd Lockout - $10
  • 4th Lockout - $15
  • 5th Lockout - $20 
  • 6th and all Subsequent Lockouts - $50
  • 10th Lockout - $50 


Replacing a Key

If you have lost or broken your keys please come to the Housing & Residence Life office, PIT-100 to replace them.

Replacement of keys is a $10 charge for each replacement.

Guest Policy
  1. The resident shall be fully responsible for the actions of their guest
  2. Overnight guests may be permitted on an occasional basis, provided
    • The permission of any suite/roommates is obtained in advance
    • No complaints have been made previously regarding the conduct of the guest
    • The guest does not leave any possessions in the Room or Residence for more than three days
  3. A guest’s privilege may be revoked if, in the opinion of Housing & Residence Life, the resident abuses such privilege by
    • Over intoxicated
    • Illegal substance use
    • Breaking of community standards
Maintenance and Cleaning

Maintenance Requests

If you require maintenance in your room or cleaning in the public spaces you must complete a work order request. To complete a work order request, please report it to the Residence Service Desk Agent. 

Room Condition Assessment

When you first move into your room, we ask that you take a quick look around the room and report to the Housing & Residence Life office within 48 hours if there are any concerns.
