Summer Residence - Application Info and Cost

For Active Ryerson Students who are enrolled in classes. 

Are you a Ryerson student and taking classes, doing an internship, or working downtown this summer?

Stay at Ryerson's Pitman Hall, at the low cost of $805/per month, tax exempted. Utilities, hydro, internet included. Available from May 1st until August 22nd, 2020.

Where and How to Apply

1. Print and Sign the Residence Agreement

The Residence Agreement is a legal document that you must read and sign before submitting your residence application. It covers important information about residence such as move-in and move-out dates, application deadlines and instructions, and fee deadlines.

When submitting the application, you will be asked to upload a copy of the signed residence agreement as an attachment. It would be a good idea to have the agreement printed, signed and scanned prior to completing the application. 

2. Submit an Application Request

The 2020 Summer Residence Application is now open. Click here to apply

3. Pay the Application Fee

Pay the $50 application fee posted on RAMSS to complete the application process.

Don't forget to send us proof of payment at reservations@ryerson.ca when you made the payment. 

4. Wait for the Offer of Accomodation

Spaces are offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Once application fee is received, students will receive an offer of accommodation pending if spaces are available. Please allow up to 7 business days for processing.

 

Please note: The 4-months housing applications receive priority. 

Application Fee

Pay the $50 non-refunable application fee on RAMSS within in one week to complete the application. 

This $50 application will be applied to the first month rent. 

Term Length

The term length for summer residence is May 1, 2020 to August 22, 2020.

The 4-months housing applications receive priority.
Single-month housing applications will begin to receive offers on March 10, 2020. 

Cost

 

Total cost for summer residence is $3,000.

  • Application fee is $50 and is due when applying.
  • The first month room rent is due on April 1,2020.
  • The subsequent rent will be due on the 1st day of every month.
  • Apply the application fee of $50 towards the first month rent.
  • A $50 late fee applies if rent is overdue for 5 days. 
  • All payments are due online on RAMSS

Roommate Request

 

We accept roommate requests on the residence application form. It is your responsibility to ensure that all individuals indicate their wish to be roommates. This is only a request, however, and we do not guarantee that every request will be granted; we reserve the right to pair students outside of the roommate request into the same apartment.

Community Standards

The Residence Community Standards set out clear expectations of acceptable behaviour within the residence community and the consequences for behaviour that is contrary to these expectations.

Cancellation Policy
There are different cancellations/withdrawal fees depending on the time a student chooses to cancel/withdraw.
 
  • Application Cancellations prior to May 1, 2020 - students will forfeit the $50 non-refundable application fee.

  • Residence Withdrawal between May 1, 2020 and May 8, 2020 - students are subject to the $400 withdrawal fee.

  • Residence Withdrawals (in the first seven days of the month) - students are subject to the $400 withdrawal fee and rent for any previous months lived in residence - not including the current month.

  • Residence Withdrawals (after the seventh day of the month) - students are subject to the $400 withdrawal fee, the current month's rent, and rent for any previous months lived in residence.
