External applicant questions
Who is an External Applicant?

Candidates who do not have an active employment contract in eHR or with Ryerson University. Candidates use the careers page (https://careers.ryerson.ca) to access job postings. For instructions on how to create a profile, and apply for jobs as an external applicant in eHire refer to the External applicant user guide.

How do I narrow down my search to a specific category?

To narrow down your search use one of the available search options. There are three different search options available:

  • Keyword search
  • Advanced search
  • Grid search

How do I recover my Login information?

If you forgot your password or user name but know the email address you registered with, you can use the Login Help link on the Careers home page.

How do I respond to a Job Offer?

If your job application is successful, an electronic job offer is posted on your eHire profile. You will receive an email with instructions on next steps of the application process. Login to your profile to view any offers on the My Job Notifications page.

When you access the offer details, you can review the offer documents, including the offer letter and any other relevant information. You can choose to accept or reject the offer, or if you do not respond to the offer by the expiry date you will miss out on the job opportunity.

How many days do I have to respond to a Job Offer?

By default, you will have 5 days to respond to a job offer, unless the Recruiter has extended the offer acceptance date. The email you receive from the recruiter will contain details of the expiry date.  

Why can’t I add an attachment without applying for a job?

Presently, the function to add an attachment is disabled and may become available in future.

How do I recover my Login information?

If you’ve forgotten your password or user name but know the email address you registered with, you can use the Forgot username or Password? link on the sign in page.

How do I view my Application History?

You can view your application history through the My Job Applications menu of your profile. This page contains information about all your applications, resumes and job offers.
