Research Areas:

-        UAV systems integration.

-        Command and Control (C2) communication.

-        Implementation of a detect and avoid (DAA) infrastructure for UAV  collusion avoidance.

-        Detection non-cooperative and cooperative air vehicles and avoid them to prevent collisions.

Overview

Dr. Anjum is an Assistant Professor at the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management. He received a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, USA. He completed MSc in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, USA. Before joining Ryerson University, Dr. Anjum served as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Eastern Connecticut State University, USA. 

Dr. Anjum’s current research focuses on AI-driven Sensor Networks, mmWave Body Sensor Networks, 3D mobility modelling and percolation analysis (of coverage, connectivity, and reliability) of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) networks. Broadly, Dr. Anjum’s research area primarily concentrates on wireless communication, networking, and IoT (internet of things). He has extensive research experience in the above mentioned areas including 3D random networks, balloon networks, body sensor networks, cognitive radio, wireless regional area networks, and MIMO-OFDM. Additionally, he has an academic research background in recurrent neural networks (RNN) based reservoir computing. Dr. Anjum’s research works involved collaborations with a large group of experts from different institutions funded by several notable sources such as the National Science Foundation, US Air Force, US Army, National Natural Science Foundation of China, etc. This research has resulted in published book chapters, journals, conference papers, funds, and awards.

Additionally, Dr. Anjum has been serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE IoTJ (Internet of Things Journal), the flagship journal in the area of IoT (Internet of Things).
