Awards & Scholarships

Each year, awards and scholarships are presented to students who excel in academics, leadership, volunteer and community engagement. These awards are presented at the annual TRSITM Awards Ceremony in November. Award recipients will receive details through their Ryerson email account if chosen.

2019-2020 Program Awards

This award is available to assist students enrolled in the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management in memoriam of a former Business Technology Management student, Ankit Chhibber. 

Award Value

Up to $1,100

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full time degree student who has completed their first year of the BTM program and is enrolled full time in their second year of the program
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • Must demonstrate financial need

TRSM Information Technology Management ’18 Katrina Ann del Rosario created this award to recognize an ITM student who identifies as first generation Canadian and who created a positive impact on TRSM community by helping other students through their involvement with student groups, Business Career Hub or Academic Success Centre.

Up to $1,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a Full-time or Part-time degree student who has completed their first year of the BTM program and is entering their second year or higher year of the program
  • Have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.67 and be in clear academic standing
  • Identify as a first generation Canadian or first in their family to go to university
  • Must demonstrate financial need

This award is offered to a BTM Degree Alumni who serves as an inspirational role model through their contribution and efforts in building the reputation of the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management (TRSITM), and/or the Ryerson Community.

Up to $1,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a graduate of the Business Technology Management (or the formerly named Information Technology Management) Degree program
  • Candidates can be self-nominated or be nominated by other Alumni or Current students
  • Must have been involved or contributed to the effort of building the reputation of the school and/or University after graduation

The Director's Award in Telecommunications, Dianne Dunn and Mathilda Meyer Memorial Award is awarded to a BTM full-time degree student for high academic achievement in ITM 301 - IT Infrastructure, while maintaining overall academic proficiency in second year.

  • Must be a Canadian citizen/Permanent resident
  • Must be an Ontario resident
  • Must demonstrate financial need

The Donald K. Jackson Award is available to assist second year students enrolled in the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management.

Award Value

Up to $2,500

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time degree student currently registered in their second year of the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management program
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • C+ or better average at the end of first year of FULL-TIME studies
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities
    • For example, attach documentation and letter(s) of reference of volunteer work, non-profit organizations etc.

The Enbridge Gas Distribution Infrastructure Management Summer Employment Award offers a BTM student the opportunity for employment in Spring/Summer 2020 between third and fourth years. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time degree registered students who achieved high academic standing in ITM 301 – IT Infrastructure
  • Student must be very interested in telecommunications, networks, server & storage management and/or other IT infrastructure disciplines
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.00 at the end of Winter 2019
  • Must be currently enrolled in third year and plans to return to fourth year
  • Co-op students are not eligible for this award

The Enbridge Gas Distribution Project Management Summer Employment Award offers a BTM student the opportunity for employment in Spring/Summer 2020 between third and fourth years. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Full-time degree registered student, who plans to achieve high academic standing in ITM 750 – I.S. Project Management (final grade will be checked in late December 2019)
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.00 at the end of the Fall 2019 term. (CGPA will be checked in late December 2019)
  • Student must be very interested in the Project Management discipline.
  • Must be currently enrolled in third year and plans to return to fourth year.
  • Co-op students are not eligible for this award

The Irene Sahota Award in Information Technology Management is Awarded to a BTM Full-Time Degree student for high academic achievement in ITM 305 - Systems Analysis and Design during their second academic year.

The Marcelli-Paglieri Award will be awarded to a Part-time degree student in The Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management who has balanced full-time work with academics and community involvement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be registered as a Part-time degree student in the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology at Ryerson University and have clear academic standing
  • Demonstrate overall academic excellence with a minimum CGPA of 2.5
  • Must self-identify as a female
  • Must have a minimum of 10 courses completed in the BTM Part-time degree program

This award provides financial assistance to undergraduate students in the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management who demonstrate leadership and involvement in the Ted Rogers School of Management community with the intention of increasing awareness and advancing the reputation of the School and building partnerships with the external community.

  • Have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 and be in clear academic standing
  • Have demonstrated leadership and involvement in the Ted Rogers School of Management community with the intention of increasing awareness and advancing the reputation of the School and building partnerships with the external community

  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to entrepreneurial pursuits

This award is to recognize and support a student with financial need in the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management who demonstrates commitment to the success of not only themselves, but of their peers as well. The recipient of this award will be a student who helps to foster a collaborative and supportive environment within TRSITM.
