On Feb. 4, 2020, the Ryerson School of Journalism and the Ryerson Journalism Research Centre hosted the panel: "What Does It Take To Publish a Book?"

The all-RSJ alumni panel was moderated by Prof. Joyce Smith, and featured Karma Brown (external link) , author of the bestsellers Come Away With Me and The Choices We Make; Ann Hui (external link) , the Globe and Mail's national food reporter and author of Chop Suey Nation; and Haley Cullingham (external link) , senior editor at Penguin Random House Canada and Hazlitt.

The panelists spoke about the process of getting a book pitched, sold and published from perspectives within the publishing industry.
