Emergency Funding

The Ryerson and the School of Journalism have several emergency bursaries to assist students in acute financial need.

The Vincent J. Devitt Emergency Fund was created through the generous support of his family and friends to help undergraduate journalism students who need emergency or other financial support. It is available to both undergraduate and graduate students.

To apply:

Make an appointment with the Chair of the School of Journalism to explain how you would benefit from the funding.

The SOS Fund, external link was created to assist journalism students with emergency financial needs. It is available to both undergraduate and graduate students.

To apply:

Undergraduate students should meet with the Undergraduate Program Director to secure funding and graduate students should meet with the Graduate Program Director.

The RSU provides an emergency bursary program to help students with financial need. The funding is intended to provide short-term assistance to students in severe financial need
