The Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Ryerson University's Jennifer Orange appointed to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal

Professor Orange will serve the tribunal as a part-time member for a 5-year term.

Jennifer Orange, one of Ryerson Law's newest faculty members, has been appointed to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal as a part-time member for a five year term.

In this role, Professor Orange will hear discrimination cases in accordance with the Canadian Human Rights Act. Professor Orange will play an important role in ensuring that the rights of Canadians to equality, equal opportunity, fair treatment, and an environment free of discrimination is upheld under the law.

The jurisdiction of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal encompasses matters within the legislative authority of the Parliament of Canada, which includes federal government departments and agencies, Crown corporations, banks, airlines, and other federally regulated employers and service providers.
