The Make-Up Test Centre can support students with the administration of both remote and in-person tests/exams.

We are pleased to announce that the Make-Up test centre now administers paper and pencil tests/exams and computer-based tests/exams. The computers can be used for the exams which are already uploaded into D2L, and students will have access only to the Microsoft Office package and Acrobat Adobe Reader for their exams.

For in-person make-up tests/exams, students must be enrolled in an in-person course, which has a scheduled in-person quiz, test, or midterm for the entire class. For remote tests/exams, The Make-Up Test Centre team is available to support Faculty with make-up requests in D2L.

About the Make-Up Test Centre

Student Wellbeing Services has launched an expanded Make-Up Test Centre to meet the increasing needs of faculty and students. The Make-Up Test Centre will provide a greater allocation of physical test space, offer an updated registration system, and decrease scheduling wait times.

Increased Capacity

The Make-Up Test Centre will expand its physical test space byway of four rooms in Kerr Hall East, each with a capacity of at least 80 students. Student Wellbeing Services expects that 640 tests per day will be able to be administered thanks to the additional space, a significant increase from 70-90 tests per day prior to the upgrade.

Improved Efficiency

Throughout the planning process, familiarity and efficiency were key considerations for both Toronto Metropolitan University faculty and students. In addition to physical space, an improved registration system is available for make-up test booking use. The system is accessible via your my.torontomu login.

Faculty

For faculty members, the registration system includes a multi-request capability, whereby faculty may book a make-up test date for multiple students on the same date at the same time. Faculty will also be able to submit tests/exams directly through the online Make-Up Test registration system, which sits on a secure Toronto Metropolitan University server. Alternatively, faculty may submit hard-copy tests/exams in person at the same Test Centre drop-off location in the Victoria Building (VIC) basement. All time allocations to approve booking requests will remain the same.

Students

Students should note that all Make-Up Test Centre rules of conduct ( (PDF file) Senate Policy 60,  (PDF file) Senate Policy 61) remain the same despite the expansion. Students will still need to work with their professors to receive official confirmation and approval of a make-up test booking, as well as bring their Toronto Metropolitan One Card to all scheduled make-up tests.
