She specializes in crafting immersive experiences that deepen stakeholder engagement and catalyze conversations about identity and alignment.

Bonnie holds a BA in Government with a concentration in systems of justice. Her passion has always been the intersection of narrative and power. In spring 2011, Bonnie presented a research project entitled, “Coalition-Building, Identity, and Nonviolence: Egypt 2010-2011” focusing on the effects of Twitter and historical group identity on the events of Tahrir Square. Upon completing her degree, Bonnie worked in the West Bank (Palestine) for four months developing a music curriculum for the Irish nonprofit, Music Harvest.

Since receiving her BA in 2011, Bonnie has developed fluency in digital storytelling by working across industries. In journalism and publishing, she reported for STACKEDD Magazine in Seattle and founded the community literary journal, Radicle. In film & theatre, Bonnie has produced, directed, and scenic designed for 20+ projects. As a media strategist, she oversaw alumnae engagement for the Hedgebrook women writer’s retreat, whose alumnae include Gloria Steinem and Danai Gurira. In branding and marketing, Bonnie developed social media strategies and video content for businesses and creative projects. She also co-founded the first Queer Pride Parade on Whidbey Island.

Alongside coursework, Bonnie is a passionate advocate for representation and transparency in tech. Relocating to Toronto provides an opportunity to learn from Canada’s innovation and integrity in digital media. With expertise in experience design, Bonnie aims to create spaces for radical identity shifts, to help generate the agency, creativity, and equity needed for humanity to flourish in the new digital era.

Why Digital Media?

New technology can either obscure or illuminate our choices. In order to participate meaningfully in the human story, expertise in digital media is absolutely essential. I am enchanted by the ways that story shapes culture, and I am eager to leverage my creativity and perseverance to make a real contribution to the field of experience design.
