Biography:

During my undergraduate education I learned various skills such as the ability to understand the sociocultural roles of various media and communications technologies and knowing how to interpret and communicate key issues relevant to the digital world and the contemporary media landscape. I also gained experience in using a variety of research methods to understand media institutions, media texts/artifacts, and media audiences.

After that, I had a gap year in which I worked as a production assistant at the university. I was involved in an alumni project and my work involved contacting UWindsorʼs alumni that currently work in interesting work fields, interviewing them, and doing photoshoots at their workplaces. I also have experience working as a graphic designer for a company in Bulgaria. I took a large part in the creation of the company website design, logo, and advertising content. Currently, I am working as a freelance photographer.

My research project is exploring the idea of designing a mobile application based on AR technology that will allow its users to take the interior designing process into their own hands. Such development would further aim to democratize technology, making it more accessible to the general public by combining the sophisticated technological capabilities of a VR headset with the lightness and portability of a mobile device. The project is not an invention of new digital technology; it is instead an interfusion of an already existing tech.

Why Digital Media?

Since my undergraduate education was more focused on the theoretical side of Digital Media I decided that I also want to gain more practical experience in the field. That is why the Digital Media program at Ryerson seemed the perfect fit for continuing my education.
