Biography:

Aline Nguyen is an interdisciplinary designer, artist, and storyteller. Her affinity to create and her curiosity for new technology is what drives her life-long pursuit to be a creative problem solver and extend her creativity into various forms of multi-media.

While studying for her Honours Bachelor of Design at York University/Sheridan College, she got her first in-depth exposure to various exciting technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and a variety of 2D and 3D software programs. As she experimented with these technologies to transform her creative ideas into tangible forms, she discovered her increasing interest in rapid prototyping and how it can assist innovative design thinking and user-forward design. In 2016, Aline was a semi-finalist in the package design category of the Adobe Achievement Awards with her student project, Minute Box. Upon graduating within the top 15% of her faculty with her Honours Bachelor of Design, Aline has worked as a freelance graphic designer in web development and marketing.

Why Digital Media?

Aline strives to further develop her voice as a designer with an advocacy for human-centered design strategies while pursing a Master of Digital Media at Toronto Metropolitan University. Currently, Aline is pursuing academic research in applications of augmented reality and mixed-media storytelling.
