Yes, international prospects without business backgrounds can apply to the MBA program for Fall 2020.

The program will take 16 months to complete with Foundation courses. Students who start the program in Fall 2020, will finish December 2021 and graduate in June.

A full-time domestic applicant with a non-business background can apply to the MBA program for Fall 2020.

Domestic applicants can still apply for the Spring 2020 semester. However, the test scores they’re unable to submit will be seen as an exception. Any domestic applicants who cannot complete their tests can be assessed on a 1-1 basis and should reach out to a member of the recruitment team at mba@ryerson.ca

Please note: In response to testing centre closures, ETS, external link, opens in new window has introduced a solution for students who have been impacted by the coronavirus to take the TOEFL iBT® test, external link, opens in new window and the GRE® General test, external link, opens in new window at home until test centers can reopen. Please visit the websites for more details.

A communication will be sent to all incoming international students who have accepted offers for Spring 2020 from the program director, providing them with details on their options. Due to recent travel bans, all incoming students who have accepted offers for Spring will be given the option of deferring their studies to Fall 2020.

Yes. The application portal for international students is only open for Fall 2020.

The application portal for international applicants for Fall 2020 closed on April 30th, 2020. The application portal will open mid-October 2020 for the 2021 intake for international applicants.

Tuition

One of Ryerson University’s mandates is to provide accessible education.

The Ted Rogers MBA tuition is subsidized by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Ontario, which allows us to keep our tuition affordable.

Yes. Each Canadian business course and/or foundation course costs the equivalent of one MBA credit.

Grades and Transcripts

You may complete additional university-level courses and obtain higher marks to increase your chances of admission. Applicants should contact the program for further details.

If you are currently enrolled in or have completed university-level courses after your undergraduate degree, these courses can be included in the assessment of your application; however, your GPA will remain the same.

Unofficial transcripts will be accepted for evaluation purposes. Official transcripts will only be required if an Offer of Admission is issued.

If your transcripts/documents are in a language other than English, you must provide a notarized English translation. Please note translations do not replace original documentation; both versions must be submitted.

As a Yeates School of Graduate Studies student you are eligible to apply for transfer credits if you have completed graduate-level coursework but have not been awarded a graduate degree.

Transfer credits must be requested at the time of application using the transfer credits form. Credit for such work shall not exceed 50 percent of the program’s course requirements.

Canadian Business Courses

Applicants with degrees from outside of Canada, and less than two years North American work experience, will be required to complete up to four Canadian Business courses as part of their MBA program.

Careers

As a part-time student, you are entitled to all of the services the MBA Careers Team offers. While you may currently be employed, the services extend past MBA graduation. If you are ever looking to make a career transition, or need help negotiating your salary, work expectations, etc., the MBA Careers Team can help.

While questions about academics and course selection might come up during career exploration and job searches, the MBA Careers Team does not provide academic counselling. Our Program Director can assist with academic advice.
