John Maidens is an Assistant Professor at Ryerson University. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. His research focuses on developing scalable algorithms for the optimal design of experiments and for safety verification in dynamical systems as well as applications of these algorithms to solve problems in medical imaging, automated anesthesia, and cardiology. Prior to joining Ryerson University in 2018, he served as Chief Data Scientist at Eko Devices, Inc., where he built an AI system to analyze heart murmurs.
