International Women's Day at Ryerson

The Office of the Vice-President of Equity and Community Inclusion and Ryerson’s Human Rights Services, in partnership with The Consent Comes First Office, Access Ryerson, Ryerson Faculty Association (RFA), Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), Human Resources, Student Affairs (Student Code of Conduct Office, Tri-Mentoring Office, Student Life, Career Centre, International Student Support), Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Sciences (FEAS), Ryerson Students' Union (RSU), Continuing Education Students' Association of Ryerson (CESAR), Centre for Women & Trans People and Ryerson Aboriginal Student Services (RASS), invite you to Ryerson’s day-long celebration of International Women's Day.
Events planned include:
10 - 11:30 a.m.- Women Mentoring Women: Bringing together women of all identities to build a supportive community focused on self-love and ways in which we can practice it in our everyday lives. No need to sign up, just show up!
12 - 1:30 p.m. - International Women's Day Panel: Inequity, Power and Sexual Violence: where #metoo, external link intersects with systemic inequality - all are welcome to this panel. Light lunch provided. Live captioning will be available.
2 - 3:15 p.m. - Women's Writing Circle: An hour of gentle writing prompts and reflection in a small group led by facilitator Sheniz Janmohamad, MFA, Artist Educator and Spoken Word Artist. There is limited space for this event so please RSVP, external link for this event to let us know if you will be attending.
Also happening throughout International Women’s Day:
- A food drive and donation collection for the Native Women's Resource Centre. Please bring non-perishable food items to POD 250 between 12 and 2 p.m.
- A Breakout Room in Tri-Mentoring POD 54 featuring yoga, space to relax or decompress and light snacks from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- A community wall space to share women's experiences of resistance and resilience in POD 250 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
