NIA Senior Research Fellow Proposes New Retirement Income Solution

NIA report shows Canadian flu vaccination rates lag behind other OECD nations

Introducing the National Institute on Ageing

The National Institute on Ageing (NIA) is a university-based think tank focused on leading cross-disciplinary research, thought leadership, innovative solutions, policies, and products on ageing. The NIA’s mission is to help governments, health care systems, pension plans, businesses, and Canadian families to best meet the challenges and opportunities posed to ageing Canadians and by an ageing demographic.

The NIA is dedicated to enhancing successful ageing across the life course. It considers ageing issues from a broad range of perspectives, including income and retirement security, health and wellbeing, and social inclusion and participation.

There are now more Canadians over the age of 65 than under the age of 15 for the first time in Canada’s history. The coming generations of older Canadians will not only live longer than ever before but will bring with them a broader range of needs, priorities, and interests. Governments, civil society, and businesses will need to continue to evolve to meet these challenges and opportunities. The NIA was established to offer an evidence-based approach to all sectors confronting the realities of an ageing population.
