Joyal Miranda was appointed to the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing in 2010. Miranda received her BScN from Toronto Metropolitan University, and her MN and PhD from the University of Toronto. Miranda has also completed her postdoctoral studies at the University of Montreal. HIV prevention is Miranda’s broad area of expertise. More specifically, her research focuses on the development and use of innovative web-based interventions in HIV/AIDS prevention. Current research involves the development of an online intervention aimed at improving condom use among HIV-positive individuals. Miranda is also a co-investigator on several CIHR-funded studies examining patients’ preferences for various health prevention interventions.
