Oona St-Amant is an Assistant Professor in the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing. She obtained her undergraduate BScN from Ottawa University (2006), her MScN from Western University (2008) and recently completed her PhD studies at Western University.
Oona holds a CIHR Doctoral Award in Health Services and Population Health in HIV/AIDS Research. Her program of research focuses on unpaid care work, including family caregiving and volunteer work. Through her doctoral study, which utilized an ethnographic approach to explore non-government organization (NGO) volunteer HIV/AIDS health work in Tanzania, she developed a particular interest in how power is enacted in the context of volunteer work.
Oona teaches in the first year of the Collaborative Program at Ryerson University. She has also taught courses in the area of Research Methodologies in Nursing and Global Health Promotion at Western University.
