Landlord/Tenant Issues

  • Landlord and Tenant Board - Organization committed to resolving disputes between residential landlords and tenants by providing public education, mediation and adjudication services in a fair and timely manner. Also provides a toll-free telephone information service about the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords under the Tenant Protection Act, and the Tribunal’s operations and procedures, at 416-645-8080 from within Toronto calling area or 1-888-332-3234 from outside Toronto.
  • Toronto/Ontario Tenants - Lots of information regarding landlord-tenant relations, tenants' rights and applicable legislation.


  • Ryerson Student Union Legal Service and CESAR Legal Service - Undergraduate, graduate and continuing education students at Ryerson have access to a lawyer who can advise and assist them with virtually any legal problem, at no cost.
  • Legal Aid Society of Ontario - Legal Aid is available to low income individuals and disadvantaged communities for a variety of legal problems, including criminal matters, family disputes, immigration and refugee hearings and poverty law issues such as landlord/tenant disputes, disability support and family benefits payments.
  • Legal Line (Ontario) - Information about various areas of law.
