The Toronto Metropolitan Photonics Group was established at Toronto Metropolitan University in August 2011 by Dr. Alexandre Douplik, Professor of Physics Department at Faculty of Science and Affiliated Scientist at St. Michael Hospital.
The Toronto Metropolitan Photonics Group is specialized in Biomedical, Industrial and Virtual/Mixed Reality Applications using Optical Physics and Engineering.
The educational model in the Photonics Group comprises students’ research projects oriented to commercially potential technologies where students who are developing the projects are also encouraged to participate in commercialization of their projects.
